Have Your Say
on Health & Care
Your experiences of health and social care services in Doncaster matter more than you might think. What you tell us directly influences decisions made by the NHS and local authority — helping to make services better for everyone.
Your Voice Creates Real Change
Every experience you share — good or bad — becomes part of the evidence we use to hold health and care providers to account.
When you share your experience with Healthwatch Doncaster, you’re not just writing a review — you’re contributing to a body of evidence that we use to engage directly with the NHS, Doncaster Council and care providers. We take what you tell us seriously and always follow up.
Whether your experience was positive or negative, it helps paint a picture of how services are working for local people. Positive feedback is shared with organisations to recognise good practice. Negative feedback is raised formally, with organisations required to respond and explain what improvements they will make.
Your feedback also informs our reports and publications — read by commissioners, inspectors and decision-makers at a local and national level. People who might never otherwise have been heard find their voice through our work.
What Happens After You Share?
We take every piece of feedback seriously. Here’s exactly what happens once you get in touch.
We Receive Your Feedback
Your experience is logged securely by our team, anonymised where requested and reviewed carefully — usually within 3 working days.
We Analyse the Evidence
Your feedback is combined with others to identify patterns, trends and themes that paint a picture of how services are performing across Doncaster.
We Challenge & Influence
We share our findings with service providers, commissioners and the NHS. Where improvement is needed, we hold organisations to account and track their response.
Real Change Happens
The result is better services for people in Doncaster. We publish our findings and report back to the community on the changes that have been made.
What People Have Told Us
These are just a few examples of the experiences that have shaped our work and influenced services across Doncaster.
I struggled for months to get a face-to-face GP appointment. After speaking with Healthwatch, they raised the issue with the practice and the CCG. Within six weeks the practice changed its booking system and I now have far better access to my doctor.
I was waiting over a year for IAPT and didn’t know my rights or what to do. Healthwatch gave me clear advice, helped me escalate my case and supported me through the whole process. The waiting times in the area have now been reviewed as a result of feedback like mine.
Mum was in a care home and I was worried about the level of care she was receiving. I didn’t know who to turn to. Healthwatch listened, visited the home independently and the issues I raised were addressed. It gave us real peace of mind.
